This was always going to be a tough match

This was always going to be a tough match as the newly formed 3rd team are still gelling whilst Heaton have been playing together for a number of seasons and it showed.  It was second nature for Heaton players to read each other's moves and passes and they took advantage of Stockport settling into the game with two very early goals.
Stockport never really got their momentum going but there was some excellent defending from Helen Higgs, Kerry Roberts and Adele Lumsden who were under constant attack from the Heaton forwards.  Adele White, Kelly Shore, Christina Bates and Kelsey Redwood had to work hard in Midfield as Heaton distributed the ball fast and furious from deep in their defence out to their forward line.

Michelle Morgan, Emma Higgs and Becks Evans did get the ball into Heaton's circle and created chances as well as gained a few short corners which they were unable to convert.  Julie Gavin and Michelle Morgan had a few shots at goal but it was going to take something spectacular to get past Heaton's goalie.

Heaton kept Andrea Getcheffsky busy in goal and whilst they produced some excellent goals there were also a number of excellent saves preventing Heaton from gaining a double figure result.

Despite the score line Stockport battled hard and the score didn't really reflect their performance during the game.  Final score Heaton 8 Stockport 3rds 0
