| 20/10/2007 | Stockport 4s v University Manchester Women's 5s | 4-0 |
Stockport started like a team on a mission with some excellent
play down the right hand side from Nat Sutherland and Jenny Plant.
Manchester Uni had several counter attacks but the Stockport defence
held strong and kept them out. Stockport hit the post 4 times in the
first half as they desperately tried to put the ball in the back of
the net, but as half came with the score 0-0 it looked like it was
going to be one of those days!
After Manchester Uni had added numerous sets of fresh legs to their
team and Stockport had nudged the posts a little to the right, the
second half got under way!
It wasn't long before Stockport finally found the right side of the
posts and Jenny Plant cracked home the first goal from the edge of
the circle. The second goal followed soon after when Nat Sutherland
converted a well worked corner between herself and Debbie Mole.
Again Manchester pushed for a goal with all their fresh legs but the
old firm held strong and cleared the ball. Debbie Mole added 2 more
goals to her tally making the final score 4-0 and a comfortable
victory for Stockport. An excellent performances from the whole
team.
Oh and finally Hilary made it off the side line and onto the pitch!
