3rds started off the stronger side

The 3rds started off the stronger side with some excellent attacking play from Caroline Lumsden, Becks Evans and Claire Lumsden.  Kelly Shore worked hard in a central position and was feeding the ball to the forward line as well as back tracking to help out in defence.  Solid defending by Kerry Roberts, Adele White, Bernadette Pheiffer and Julie Gavin was making it difficult for the 4ths to get a shot on goal and when they did Andrea Boulton was making some good saves.  The 3rds held a well earned 0-0 half time score.
 
The 2nd half started well with the 3rd team getting on the score sheet first with a well earned goal from Kelly Shore, this lifted spirits but unfortunately it was short lived as Justina Maddock scored at the back post from a ball crossed in from the left.
 
Two more goals followed in quick succession for the 4th team with a goals from Viv Hudson and Nat Sutherland (great reverse stick flick).  Old timer Hilary Clamp was desperate to get on the team sheet at whatever cost and picked up the rebound from a penalty corner and beat up goalkeeper Andrea Boulton to a pulp for the sake of a goal ;-)  Andrea suffered a moment of memory loss as thought Hilary was on her team and couldn’t quite understand why she was trying to score against her but won’t be suing Hilary for assault in the best interest of the Club!!!  And just for the record Andrea does not wear body protective kit it is all her own padding, hence I do bruise – Sharon lol
 
The 3rds piled on the pressure in the final 10-15 minutes and shots on goal came from Kelly Shore, Ceire McNamee (missed a sitter!) and Beks Evans, but unfortunately these were not converted.  It was a well matched game and unfortunately the best team did not win (just kidding).  Thanks go to the 4th’s for a good game.  Well done to us all.
