All five Stockport teams were in action this weekend with Stockport 1st team opening the season with a tough game against Didsbury Northern 2's, losing 4-2. Stockport conceded 4 penalty strokes in the game, which reflects the amount defending Stockport had to do as Didsbury had most of the possession. However, Amy Nicklin scored both Stockport's goals, striking twice with fantastic shots from the top of the circle.

Stockport 2nds are newly promoted into the 2nd Division of the Manchester League this season and celebrated with a feast of goals winning 6-1 against Tameside. Goals came from Samantha Piggin(2), Laura Woodhead(1), Emma Woodhead(2) and Julie Griffiths(1) with great midfield play from Emily Smith.

The 3rds played the 4ths in their first game of the season and although the 4ths dominated the play in the first 10 minutes the first goal came from a clean strike from Claire Lumsden. Sam Piggin scored 2 for the 3rds and the final goal came from a slip shot at the back post by Caroline Lumsden. Christina Bates was unlucky not to get a consolation goal in the closing minutes of the game.

The 5th team had goal scoring chances but failed to convert and went 3-0 down against Didsbury Greys.
