A good effort in a challenging match .

The 2nd team were missing few key players for this All Div Cup match against Fearns from the 3rd Division.  Last year we had a couple of tough matches against them (Won/Lost) so we knew they could be tough opponents.
 
Stockport started 1 goal down, but were soon on level terms as a cross from Debbie Mole was converted at the post by Sam.  Fearns however upped their game, they became very tight in midfield and didn’t allow Stockport the chance to play their natural passing game.
They were awarded a goal after a scramble in the circle and assist from a foot!  After an injury to Lisa from a flying stick, Hilary came on to make her 2nd team debut at left back (a little earlier than expected!).
 
After half time, Stockport continued to press and did have chances, Sam hitting the post after rounding the keeper and Laura narrowly going wide.  Jackie another debutant made some great runs from the midfield but Fearns seemed to close off all avenues of attack.
 
Eventually Stockport got a break with Debbie Mole converting a pass from Sam into the corner of the goal, this was just too late. Final score 2 – 3 to Fearns which means Stockport 2’s move into the Plate Competition.
