| 01/11/2008 | Stockport 3s v Manchester University 5s | 1-2 |
Stockport 3s opened well and took the play to Manchester University. It was not long before the first goal was put away by Claire Lumsden in open play. Manchester pushed back and managed to scrape an easy goal when the converted a short corner with a hit into the middle of the goal. Stockport cranked up the pace but despite a lot of possession in the oppositions D failed to convert another goal.
In the second half the Stockport team ran out of steam, with the sub unwell and the first half play ( plus Halloween parties ) taking its toll the midfield collapsed and Manchester took full advantage. Stockport struggled to perceiver but failed to find each other and with attacks coming in as 6 v 3 it was not long before Manchester managed to put another goal away.
This was a very disappointing result for the "priority" 3rd team, who missing key players and fresh feet just had not got the stamina to finish.
