Unusual match sheet

With 3 Lumsdons, 2 Cooks, 2 Jennys, 2 Clares and 2 Lucys on the pitch it was a rather unusual match sheet this week!.

However, nothing confused the defence who all played a fantastic game. The uni had a lot of possession but they couldn't find a way through our organised defensive unit of Wendy, Adele, Lucy Cook and Gemma. The forwards made the most of their limited chances in the opposition half as Jenny Plant, Jenny Worth, Lisa and Amy continued to pose a threat on the counter-attack. When they were awarded a short corner, Amy slipped the ball to Gemma who blasted her shot past the keeper and to put Stockport ahead.

In the second half, the Uni were determined to get back on equal terms, there were several goal line clearances by defenders, and excellent saves from Angela in goal, but eventually the Uni collected a rebound ball and found the back of the net (despite Clare Atherton bravery to try and block the shot) and both teams had to share the points.
