End to end stuff

This was 1st time Stockport 2’s had played Moss Park 1’s this season, and from the off they showed they were well drilled, attacking the Stockport goal from the start with some slick passes and unusual free hit moves but it was Stockport who took the lead from a penalty corner after 8 minutes which was put away well by Laura Woodhead using a borrowed stick. Moss Park soon got a goal back and so it was game on. It was end to end stuff with the midfield of Lucy Rowbottom, Emily Smith and Emma Woodhead working hard to supply the forward Sam Piggin, Laura Woodhead, Hannah Williams and Nicola Attoe, eventually the pressure told and again Woodhead scored from a penalty corner. In the 2nd half Moss Park really came at Stockport and Andrea Boulton was forced to make save after save, Moss Park were handed a goal when the ball was played back out to them from the Stockport defence to bring the score level again 2 – 2.  In spite of some great passing from Williams and Woodhead Stockport were unable to convert chances and Moss Park from a cross down the right hand side scored their 3rd to make it 2 – 3.  The Moss Park defence did tire but Stockport were unable to score , even with Clare Atherton pushing forward and in the dying minutes Moss Park scored a 4th to make to the final score 2 – 4.
