Stockport 2s v Bury & Elton 1s

Stockport 2s travelled to Ramsbottom to play top of the table Bury & Elton 1s and in the first half the defence worked hard to keep the scoreline to a respectable 0-0 at half time. Bury & Elton took an early lead in the 2nd half through a deflection off a defenders stick but Stockport replied with a great through ball from Julie Griffiths to Jodie Wynn in midfield who found Lisa Malpass in the circle to finish off the attack. Two well taken penalty corners resulted in goals for Bury & Elton making the final score 3-1.

Stockport 3s v Didsbury 6s

Didsbury that took the lead through a long ball in from the right finding an unmarked attacker on the far post and Stockport failed to gain much momentum in the first half of the game, although pulled the score back to 1-1 with a well taken penalty corner from Caroline Lumsden.

A different looking Stockport team in the 2nd half took control of the game with 2 goals from Debbie Mole and Caroline Lumsden getting her second following an excellent cross in from Leah Perkins from the right. This was an important 4-1 win to take Stockport back to the top of the Divisional Table.

Stockport 4s v Urmston 3s

Stockport were desperate to keep up their recent winning form having not lost any of their last 10 league games and they didn't disappoint. An early injury resulted in Helen McConniffe going off the pitch and Susan Elcock coming in to cover in defence. Susan along with Helen Taylor had their work cut out with strong attacking play from Urmston which paid off with a little help from a deflection, and Urmston took an early lead. Stockport worked hard to build up the play with some excellent positioning from Emma Higgs out on the left wing setting up chances on the forward line. It was an attack from deep midfield from Jax Pheiffer that caught the Urmston defence out and brought Stockport equal.

The second half was end to end with both team's having chances of taking the lead but it went in Stockport's favour with a well taken short corner from Caroline Lumsden making the final score 2-1.

Stockport 5s v Didsbury 5s

Stockport 5s dusted down the cobwebs on their hockey sticks having not played a competitive league game since before Christmas. It was a slow start to the game for Stockport who took a little time to gel and in doing so Didsbury took advantage and scored taking the lead. Undeterred Stockport fought back pulling the score equal at half time. In the second half Stockport pulled play out wide more and met the ball and the improvement paid off with a 2nd goal and a 2-1 win for the 5th team.
