Pressure on Rochdale right from the word Go

A confident Stockport put pressure on Rochdale right from the word go.  With some good distribution of the ball by Beth the halves were able to send the ball in front and let Stockport force the Rochdale defence to do their job.

With some quick and early breaks taken by Beth and Kelsey and excellent link up on the right from the Lumsdon sisters we were soon in front 1-0  ☺

Stockport had many chances in the first half and with Leila taking the ball down the left giving Chris some chances and some great shots but saved by Rochdale’s keeper and defence.

Rochdale stepped up a gear in the second half putting pressure on the Stockport defence but with some great tackles from Kerry and Kelsey the defence stood strong. 

The attack taking advantage of the extra player player stayed up deep in the second half and with some great flicks in from Debs and crosses from Emma the goal hit the back of the net again!

A slightly hungover Becks and “Supersusan” in her one of many games of the day were forced to use some pace in the second half as both teams were very much still in the game.

With some short corners given to the opposition Andrea already bruised from a previous match and Adele taking a knock on the hand kept the ball off the line and kept Stockport with a clean sheet

So,  after a second win of the season and a game behind the table leaders, Stockport are sitting mid-table with every hope of pushing up the leader board !
