A good team performance

The 2nd team played Moss Park 1's on Saturday ( who had beaten Man Uni 11 - 0 the week before), the home team were on the attack from the start but the defence of Mo Murphy, Adele and Julie held really tight and cleared any early attacks and Angela making some good clearance kicks. Stockport were quick to turn defence into attack and with the midfield of Emma, Laura and Kelly working hard to get the ball out to the wings, Nicola on the left and Helen on the right gave the home team something to think about with some great attacking play. However after 25 minutes, the pressure on the Stockport defence eventually told and Moss Park went one up. 1 -1 at half time. In the 2nd half Stockport didn't give up with Jenny driving forward and Lisa unlucky not to get a couple of shots away, after a break down the left and a goal mouth scramble Nicola poked the ball through the GK's legs and the ball went over the line. Game on 1 - 1, this seemed to spur Moss Park on and they were soon 2 - 1 up, the 3rd was helped in by a foot and even the goal scorer apologised but the umpire didn't see it (it wasn't my D!) another goal 5 minutes from the end sealed the win to Moss Park 4 - 1. A good team performance against a well drilled, experienced team.
