A Family Affair !!

Stockport 3's faced Salford 1st team and it was always going to be a tough match. Despite only having 9 players Salford were by no means fazed and applied pressure from the very beginning.
 
Kez & Bern were foced to defend straight from thestart and with the help of Beth, Becks & Kelsey in midfield managed to keep it out of the D. 
Salford were very quick to intercept any passes made by Stockport and even with extra players we were still unable to make the break and take an early lead.
 
Conceding a short a couple of short corners it was not long before Salford had a shot on goal. Andrea cleared the ball 3 times before a shot was taken and the ball bounced back out off the back post. Unfortunately for Stockport it hit the inside and a goal was awarded.
 
With not long of the first half left Claire and Viv linked up well on the right making th defence and the BGKINW hold it together but with a cross in from Claire, Caroline made a quicksweep and the ball flew in the back of the net !! 1-1
 
Stockport took a bit more control of the second half and made it more more of a challenge to Salford who were not giving up, the defence were having to mark up tight and Nikki, making some accurate passes to Caroline and Viv who were now playing deeper, looking for that other goal.
 
Emma &Claire made some excellent runs down the wing and put some strong crosses into the D but Salford held on tight,  it was starting to look like we were heading for a 1-1 draw.
 
Salford were not surprisingly starting to tire towards the end of the second half and with just 5 miuntes left Stockport pushed players up and applied the pressure. With a short corner awarded,  Caroline made a quick pass to Adele who luckily managed to get the ball in the back right corner, putting Stockport in the lead and making it a very much "needed" win !
